The article is devoted to the study of literary and critical thought regarding the work of one of the brightest and most famous authors of Ukrainian literature of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, O. Zabuzhko. It is noted that the writer’s work attracts attention with its topical issues, original style, frankness, genre diversity, emphasis on timeless moral and ethical values, philosophical nature, and intellectualism, which has led to the emergence of numerous studies. The goal of the article was to understand the main directions of the reception of the creative figure of O. Zabuzhko in the contemporary Ukrainian literary and critical discourse with an emphasis on prose literary texts. The views of researchers on the genre and stylistic nature of the most famous works, features of idiostyle, the specifics of artistic modeling of reality, problem-thematic load were highlighted. The author’s position on her own texts was also traced. It is determined that contemporary researchers identify in the works of O. Zabuzhko signs of postmodern literature due to the use of intertextuality, the use of intellectual play, fragmentation, deformation of traditional narrative structures, removal of taboos from topics prohibited during the era of socialist realism. Researchers are convinced that the writer’s work is characterized by stylistic syncretism (the presence of elements of symbolism, expressionism) and genre diffusion (for example, novel-essay, short story-tale). It is noted that the main features of the author’s idiostyle are determined as philosophical, frankness, autobiographical, etc. Traditionally, the work of O. Zabuzhko is included in the feminist discourse due to the author’s interest in revealing the inner world of women, her desire to move away from gender stereotypes, and her focus on candor. It is emphasized that the writer defines these artistic and aesthetic guidelines as “feminоcentrism”, and identifies her work as “feminоcentriс literature”.
