Cognitive-Communicative Approach to the Word-Formation Nests and Subnests

The article is about correlation of the semantics of a polysemantic base word and the semantics of its derivatives within а word-formation nest. Special emphasis is paid to the processes of Russian word-formation, according to which derivatives are distributed in the word-formation nest. A word-formation nest is considered to be a cognitive-communicative unit of language consciousness with sub-nests which interprets separate fragments of reality.
