Patriotic Education of Students in Higher Education Institutions in the Context of Scientific Research

The article considers the key aspects of patriotic education of student youth as an integral component of civic activity in institutions of higher education. The definition of patriotic education is presented, which is aimed at forming in students a sense of patriotism and a proper attitude towards the Motherland, its history, culture and modern development. It is proposed to understand more deeply the mechanisms of patriotic education of student youth, turning to various pedagogical approaches, methods and tools that help in the formation of positive national identities and an active civic attitude to life in society. It is important to consider the role of universities in patriotic education, as well as their responsibility in preparing the younger generation for active participation in civic life and solving key social problems. In addition, the prospects and challenges associated with the implementation of patriotic education in the conditions of the modern world, in particular in the context of globalization, cultural diversity and challenges of the information society, are analyzed. It is noted that modern socio-political events actualize the need to take into account a wide range of regional-political and regional-cultural differences in Ukraine. There is an ambiguous attitude of the population to many events, both past and present. Therefore, patriotism has always been and remains the basis of the consolidation of society. It is a source of spiritual and healthy values that manifest themselves most vividly in periods of crisis situations. A full life in society is impossible without moral foundations and love for the Motherland. It was found that successful reforms in various spheres will be possible only if they rely on the formation of spiritual, moral and patriotic values and ideals. Patriotism and civic responsibility should unite Ukrainians and preserve an independent state. Patriotic education is designed to support Ukrainian identity and national pride, which is an important element in the formation of a coherent and sustainable society.
