Abstract

ABSTRACT The accelerating pace of industrialization and urbanization has resulted in pressing global challenges, including water scarcity and environmental pollution. The present study reports the green synthesis of cerium vanadate (CeVO 4 ) nanoparticles via a simple, cost‐effective, and eco‐friendly approach. The synthesized nanoparticles were extensively characterized using standard analytical techniques. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed their crystalline phase, while scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy‐dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) elucidated their nanoscale morphology, surface texture, and elemental composition. The photocatalytic efficiency of CeVO 4 nanoparticles was systematically assessed under varying operational parameters, including dye concentration, catalyst dosage, and pH. Remarkably, the CeVO 4 nanoparticles exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity, achieving a 90.96% degradation efficiency of methylene blue (MB) under visible light, along with high reusability over multiple cycles. Beyond environmental remediation, the study further explored the biomedical potential of CeVO 4 nanoparticles (designated as CV6) against Candida albicans .
