Abstract

This short clinical article provides general dental practitioners GDPs with an overview of some the clinical and planning challenges that frequently arise in the provision of clear aligner treatment. The article provides an overview of the benefits of a new way of working, in which the GDP is supported and mentored through the key stages of treatment offering the following advantages: better case selection; more predictable treatment plans and gaining valid consent. All of which aim to optimise the GDP and more importantly patient experience and outcome.
