Recreational fisheries is a new type of Fisheries industry form that combines traditional Fisheries with the modern leisure industry, provides products and services to meet people’s leisure needs in society, and realizes the integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. It plays a significant role in the global Fisheries sector, impacting the economy, social culture, and ecology. This paper begins by systematically introducing the current status and various models of recreational fisheries in China, then analyzes Shanghai Jinshanzui Fishing Village as a typical successful case. Based on government interviews and field research, the paper summarizes and sorts out its unique development experiences and lessons, proposing a common recreational fisheries development model. The goal is to offer valuable insights and ideas for the exploratory practice of recreational fisheries in China and abroad.
