The study aims to identify risk factors for gastric cancer occurring more than 10 years after eradication of Helicobacter pylori.
Analyzed patient data for history of gastric cancer
Assessed presence of open-type atrophy
Evaluated severity of intestinal metaplasia
Open-type atrophy was identified as an independent risk factor for gastric cancer
Severe intestinal metaplasia was also found to increase gastric cancer risk
Resumen
