ABSTRACT As Humanities departments across the country respond to increased demands and reduced support, we can affirm and demonstrate our value by directly engaging with existing campus commitments and initiatives. This paper is grounded in a Liberal Arts campus project bringing together religion and sustainability. It incorporates data from 5 years of events and initiatives, with a special case study on a particularly successful course. Analysis demonstrates that intentional alignment with existing campus values increases both course enrollment and general religious literacy across campus.
