Key Points

  • To design and synthesize cobalt-doped carbon dots with enhanced sensory and antibacterial properties.
  • Synthesis of cobalt-doped carbon dots using a hydrothermal method
  • Assessment of peroxidase-like activity
  • Evaluation of sensitivity to nitrite ions
  • Testing antibacterial performance against E. coli and S. aureus
  • Cobalt-doped carbon dots exhibited strong peroxidase-like activity
  • High sensitivity detected for nitrite ions
  • Demonstrated effective antibacterial performance against E. coli and S. aureus

Abstract

Cobalt-doped carbon dots (Co-CDs) were prepared by hydrothermal method, illustrating strong peroxidase-like activity and high sensitivity to NO 2 − , and excellent antibacterial performance against E. coli and S. aureus .
