Abstract Enantioenriched molecular sieves are the topic of the 2019 Sunney and Irene Chan lecture. The state of the field at that time is briefly reviewed. Progress in this area of investigation since 2019 is discussed. Two significant advancements that have been made are methods for determining the chirality of the molecular sieve framework and methods for increasing the stability of these frameworks. One major challenge for the future is the exclusive positioning of the elements that impart catalytic activity into a single crystallographic site within the chiral framework.
