Key Points

  • This work explores the ability of amorphous titanium dioxide to remove pollutants from wastewater.
  • Conducted molecular dynamics simulations to examine adsorption processes.
  • Selected specific pollutants for assessment on amorphous TiO2 surface.
  • Analyzed interaction dynamics between pollutants and TiO2.
  • Molecular dynamics showed effective adsorption of selected pollutants on TiO2.
  • Simulations indicated varying degrees of pollutant removal efficiency.

Abstract

The increasing presence of polluting chemicals in man-made wastewater poses significant environmental and health risks. In this work, the potential for removal of selected pollutants is discussed with results of molecular dynamics simulations.
