Key Points

  • The aim is to compare the characteristics of remdesivir-treated and non-treated patients hospitalized due to COVID-19.
  • Analyzed electronic health records of hospitalized patients
  • Compared sociodemographic and physiological characteristics between groups
  • Monitored the evolution of treatment use over time
  • Remdesivir-treated patients had distinct sociodemographic characteristics compared to non-treated patients
  • Physiological differences were noted between both groups over time
  • Treatment patterns of other COVID-19 therapies varied between remdesivir-treated and non-treated patients

Abstract

In conclusion, we found that remdesivir-treated and non-treated patients exhibited distinct sociodemographic and physiological characteristics. Also, the use of other COVID-19 treatments evolved differently between remdesivir-treated and not treated over time.
