Within this repository, country-level hourly wind capacity factors, solar capacity factors, and electricity demand profiles derived from the Renewables. ninja and Demand. ninja models are provided for 164 countries globally. The Ninja models can be used to simulate wind and solar output and electricity demand at any spatial scale, anywhere in the world, together offering realistic data on how renewable supply and electricity demand vary across hours, days, seasons, and between years. The country-level data in the "countrydata. zip" file provide national average hourly wind and solar capacity factors and national electricity demand profiles for 164 countries for a single representative year (2015). The "Guidelines to connect Ninja data to OSeMOSYS. pdf" file provides data definitions and explains how to integrate national wind, solar and electricity demand profiles with OSeMOSYS and other energy systems models. The "timesliceₑxample. xlsx" file provides a working example of how hourly supply and demand profiles can be converted into the timeslices and parameters required by OSeMOSYS and other energy system models. NOTES ON THE UPDATE: "countrydata. zip" remains unchanged from the previous version, but "Guidelines to connect Ninja data to OSeMOSYS. pdf" and "timeseliceₑxample. xlsx" have been updated to include instructions and a workflow for converting timestamps from GMT to the local timezone.
