Maintaining uniform temperature distributions is crucial for optimising greenhouse microclimates and crop performance. This study employed high‐resolution distributed fibre‐optic temperature sensing (DTS) to comprehensively analyse spatiotemporal temperature heterogeneity within and above tomato canopies in a 640 m 2 Venlo‐type greenhouse under four distinct ventilation modes: (1) Natural Ventilation (RSV: side windows combined with roof vents), (2) Mechanical Ventilation (MV: pad‐fan system), (3) MV with Roof Vents (MRV), and (4) MV with Circulation Fans (MCV). The DTS system provided detailed insights into vertical and horizontal gradients. This study underscores the necessity of balancing cooling intensity and spatiotemporal homogeneity in greenhouse ventilation design and provides actionable insights for refining climate control strategies through precise thermal management to optimise crop growth conditions.
