Key Points

  • This research aims to present the genome sequence of Saccopteryx leptura and understand its chromosomal organization.
  • Produced a genome assembly from an individual male Saccopteryx leptura.
  • Mapped the assembly into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules.
  • Successfully assembled the X chromosome, while the Y chromosome remains unassembled.
  • The genome sequence spans 2.6 Gb in total length.
  • The assembly includes a complete X chromosome.
  • The Y chromosome assembly is not successful due to its short length.

Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Saccopteryx leptura (Chordata; Mammalia; Chiroptera; Emballonuridae). The genome sequence is 2.6 Gb in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 14 chromosomal pseudomolecules, with the X chromosome assembled. Due to the Y chromosome being very short in this species, assembly has not yet been successful.
