Key Points

  • This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of platelet-rich therapies compared to placebo in treating erectile dysfunction.
  • Conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
  • Analyzed data on the efficacy of platelet-rich therapies
  • Included studies that focused on sexual function outcomes in men with erectile dysfunction
  • Platelet-rich therapies showed no superior efficacy over placebo for improving sexual function
  • Evidence was categorized as low-to-moderate certainty
  • A small number of participants limits the generalizability of findings

Abstract

This meta-analysis of RCTs provides low-to-moderate certainty evidence that PRTs do not confer superior efficacy over placebo in improving sexual function in men with ED. However, the small number of patients restricts the generalizability of our conclusions. Additional high-quality studies are required to clarify the clinical role of PRTs in the management of ED.
