ABSTRACT This article mainly focuses on the preassigned‐time (PAT) synchronization and adaptive PAT synchronization of multi‐weighted complex networks (MWCNs). A PAT synchronization criterion for MWCNs is obtained by developing a state feedback controller, in which the settling time of PAT synchronization can be predefined in accordance with task requirements. Since external disturbances are unavoidable in many cases, a sufficient condition is derived by virtue of some inequality techniques to ensure PAT synchronization for MWCNs with external disturbance. Two adaptive strategies are employed to achieve PAT synchronization of MWCNs and PAT synchronization of MWCNs with external disturbance, respectively. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis.
