Agamid lizards (agamids, also known as dragon lizards or dragons) belong to a species-rich squamate family found on all non-polar continents except the Americas. Draco blanfordii, also known as Blanford's flying dragon, belongs to the family of Agamidae, widespread across South and Southeast Asia. To better understand the flying feature of Draco, we present a high-quality chromosome-level genome with a genome size is 1.73Gb, with a scaffold N50 is 255.50 Mbp. To date, there are no published genome assemblies of a flying dragon, limiting limited our that underlie their unique adaptive trait of this genus.
