Statement of the problem. The paper outlines the main provisions and assumptions of the engineering method for calculating reinforced concrete structures using the "struts-and-ties" method. Models of reinforced concrete elements were made on the basis of the formwork drawings, and the experimental procedure was described. Results. Based on the requirements of the current standards, the limiting values of destructive loads for each model under study have been determined. Full-scale tests of reinforced concrete models of various cross-sections were carried out, graphs of the dependences of relative deformations on the magnitude of the external load in the characteristic sections were constructed, and a picture of cracking was obtained. Conclusions.The results obtained during the experiment show good convergence with the theoretical ones. The data obtained can subsequently be applied to refine the computational models and theoretical substantiation of the engineering method under study.
