ZGZhongliang GongXYXiaodong YiXGXi-Gui Gao

Key Points

  • This research investigates luminescence properties in new hybrid materials based on metal halides.
  • Synthesis of (C7H18N2)MBr4 hybrids with M = Cd, Zn, and Mn.
  • Characterization of luminescence properties through photoluminescence measurement.
  • Analysis of defect-induced emissions in halide powders.
  • Hybrids exhibit bright blue and green photoluminescence.
  • Cd- and Zn-based materials show red luminescence from self-trapped excitons.
  • Findings suggest potential applications in lighting and anti-counterfeiting.

Abstract

New (C 7 H 18 N 2 )MBr 4 (M = Cd, Zn, and Mn) hybrids show bright blue/green photoluminescence. Cd- and Zn-based halide powders exhibit another red luminescence from defect-induced self-trapped excitions, promising for lighting and anti-counterfeiting.
