Abstract

ABSTRACT Whilst Reactive Infectious Mucocutaneous Eruption (RIME) displays a low mortality rate, the condition results in significant morbidity and resource allocation, including prolonged hospital admission. As such, early diagnosis and optimisation of treatment is imperative. A retrospective review of paediatric patients in South Australia suffering with RIME across 2023 and 2024 was conducted, analysing trends in aetiology, diagnosis, management and long‐term outcomes. Our findings emphasise the need for early input from a specialist paediatric dermatologist and highlight the need for vigilance during times of Mycoplasma pneumoniae outbreak.
