Key Points

  • The aim is to explore nuclear reactions between identical atoms as a viable alternative to fusion power.
  • Analysis of nuclear reactions occurring naturally within the Earth
  • Comparative evaluation of energy requirements for fusion vs. alternative reactions
  • Nuclear reactions can occur at lower temperatures than those required for fusion
  • Identical atoms can produce energy without the extreme conditions necessary for traditional fusion techniques

Abstract

Nuclear reactions deep within the Earth, responsible for the differences in the elemental compositions of the Earth's crust and the interstellar material from which the crust formed, do not require ultra-high temperatures of hundreds of millions of degrees. Therefore, Fusion Power attempts to create such temperatures are a waste of time and money.
