The non-isolated AC-DC matrix converter has the advantages of high efficiency and high power density. The power converter has the problem of uneven aging of power devices, and it is of great significance to reduce the burden of aging devices through the control strategy for the safe operation of the converter and prolonging its service life. Aiming at the problem that existing model predictive control methods do not consider the existence of bridge arm aging differences in AC-DC matrix converters, this paper proposes a model predictive direct power control (MPDPC) strategy based on switch state preselection, by reducing the switching frequency of the bridge arm with the highest degree of aging switching action and reducing its switching losses, the lifetime of this switch and converter is extended, and the present strategy does not require any modification of the cost function or increase in the hardware cost as compared to the conventional methods. A simulation model was built in Matlab/Simulink and compared with the traditional model prediction direct power control method to verify the feasibility of the method.
