Column-to-nuki connections are important earthquake-resisting element for Japanese traditional wooden buildings. Wedges of that connections must be retightened if a disaster loosens the wedges. In this paper, microtremor measurements were performed before and after retightening wedges to evaluate structural performance recovery. The subject of the survey is structures with overhang where retightening of the wedges is not easy. Measured data revealed the complex vibration characteristics of the structures with overhang, and numerical analysis using multi-mass system evaluated retightening the wedge had restored 10-20% of the stiffness in the subject connections.
