Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to conduct research on the consensus building process in a community workshop using Minecraft, where university students collaboratively redesigned their campus. Analysis of their conversation and questionnaire survey demonstrates Minecraft’s effectiveness in enabling spatial simulation, iterative idea development, and shared understanding of design concepts. This led to active engagement and consensus building. In addition, Minecraft offered benefits in flexibility in idea visualization and user-friendliness.
