Abstract

A male patient developed a severe articular defect of the distal radius following treatment for fracture-related infection caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus . Full functional recovery was achieved with articular reconstruction using a distal clavicular osteochondral autograft guided by three-dimensional (3D) simulation and 3D-printing, with concomitant palmar radiocarpal ligament reconstruction using the acromioclavicular joint capsule. • First case report on articular reconstruction after fracture-related infection. • Successful distal radius articular reconstruction using distal clavicle graft. • Osteochondral graft using acromioclavicular (AC) joint cartilage. • Also used AC joint capsule for palmar radiocarpal ligament reconstruction.
