This study aims to develop a project-based learning (PBL) makeup course that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technologies with bio-beauty knowledge and incorporates active participation from industry experts. Responding to the recent shift in the beauty industry toward personalization, data-driven decision-making, and digital transformation, this study designed a curriculum that strengthens learners’ capability to analyze skin and facial conditions using AI diagnostic tools and apply bio-cosmetic knowledge to practical makeup solutions. The developed course consists of instructional strategies, a 15-week instructional plan, performance-based assessment rubrics, and structured learning worksheets to support students throughout the entire PBL process. Moreover, expert review and content validity examination were conducted to verify the educational appropriateness and practical feasibility of the developed course materials. The results confirmed that the curriculum effectively integrates AI analysis, bio-cosmetic application, and hands-on learning activities in alignment with industry expectations and professional competencies required in the field. This study provides a meaningful pedagogical framework for nurturing future-ready beauty professionals equipped with creativity, collaborative problem-solving skills, and scientific, data-driven makeup expertise. Further research is recommended to empirically evaluate learning outcomes through actual course implementation and to explore the scalability of this curriculum within diverse beauty education contexts.
