The study aims to analyze trends in hospitalisations due to Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) among Swedish children from 2010 to 2022.
Analyzed nationwide hospitalisation data from Sweden
Focused on paediatric cases of RSV
Evaluated gestational age and length of hospital stay
Most RSV hospitalisations occur in infants, particularly those born at term
Shorter hospital stays are associated with older gestational age at birth and later age at admission
Abstract
Paediatric RSV hospitalisations mostly occur in the youngest infants, and most are born at term. Gestational age at birth and age at admission are both negatively related to length of stay.
