This work presents the results of the synthesis of a new acetylhydrazone of acetoacetanilide. The compound was obtained by condensation of acetoacetanilide with acetylhydrazide in an alcoholic medium. Its structure was confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and UV spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallographic analysis. The thermal properties and stability of the compound were investigated. The compound crystallizes in a triclinic system with space group – . The molecule forms a stable crystal packing due to a network of intermolecular hydrogen bonds and possible π-stacking interactions. The obtained results indicate the potential of this class of compounds as promising ligands in coordination chemistry.
