Children who undergo adenotonsillectomy frequently return to the hospital, most commonly for post-operative dehydration, hemorrhage, and pain control. Post-operative systemic infectious complications are rarely observed and not well-described. In this case series, we present three cases of invasive Streptococcus pyogenes infection following adenotonsillectomy. Providers caring for ill-appearing children post-adenotonsillectomy should consider these complications to help avoid diagnostic and treatment delay.
