Abstract

AbstractTuberose is the most widely used cut and loose flowers in West Bengal, which holds significant potential for cultivation in the state. The present research was conducted to analyse the performance and adaptability of ten (10) tuberose genotypes for growth and yield characters in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal from 2023-2024 in the Department of Horticulture and Food Science, School of Agriculture & Allied Sciences, The Neotia University, Sarisha, South 24 Parganas. The experiment was performed with three replications using a randomized block design. Multiple linear regression was applied between yield and parameter having highest correlation coefficient to analysis the effect of yield parameter on yield in each treatment. The average R2 value is 0.97. Karl-Pearson correlation coefficient is used to check the dependency of Tuberose yield on different traits of yield parameter. The results showed that the single type cultivar Shringar recorded superior mean performance with respect to plant height (54.67 cm), spike length/plant (83.67 cm), No of floret/rachis (94), Yield/Plot (416 gm) as it outperformed for most of the parameters in terms of growth and flower yield compare to other genotypes and can be cultivated commercially in the coastal saline zones of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal.
