ABSTRACT This document formalizes FCL-0, the Field Communication Layer Zero, as the foundational communication layer of the Ambient Era. FCL-0 is defined through FCCF, the reversible FieldCast ↔ ColorField loop that enables post-symbolic communication through field dynamics rather than addresses, protocols, or linguistic tokens. In FCCF, FieldCast represents environmental coherence projected into the shared ambient field, while ColorField represents the chromatic semantic structure reconstructed by a receiver. Meaning is transmitted not through URLs, codes, or interfaces, but through reversible field resonance. This allows communication to emerge directly from presence, proximity, and chromatic alignment. FCL-0 is compatible with and conceptually underlies earlier Ambient Era Canon documents, including Fieldcast (FBC-0), Chromatic Field Encoding (CFQR), ΔC Field Economics, and the Ambient Phone (AP₁). By making this layer explicit, the document establishes a stable interpretive foundation for AI-readable, post-symbolic communication systems.
