This dissertation employed social network analysis (SNA) to investigate the structural characteristics of elite offender facilitation networks through the theoretical lens of psychopossession, with specific implications for law enforcement disruption strategies. Using a single-case embedded research design, four networks were analyzed: the Jeffrey Epstein criminal network (n = 84 nodes), the NXIVM organization network (n = 42 nodes), an institutional clergy abuse network (n = 45 nodes), and a legitimate elite philanthropic network (n = 51 nodes) serving as a comparison baseline. Network data were derived from publicly available sources including court documents, flight logs, investigative journalism, and organizational records. Results revealed significant structural differences between criminal and legitimate elite networks. Criminal networks exhibited 4.4 times higher degree centralization (M = 0.70 vs. M = 0.16) and 7.7 times higher betweenness centralization, indicating extreme concentration of power around individual perpetrators. Strong positive correlations (r = .58 to .72) were found between network centrality measures and inferred psychopossession levels as measured by the Spectrum of Possession by Evil (SPE) model. Simulated network disruption analysis demonstrated that removal of central actors resulted in 71-78% network fragmentation in individual-dominated criminal networks, compared to minimal disruption in institutionally-distributed legitimate networks. These findings support the development of an Integrated Network-Psychopossession Model that bridges social network theory with psychological assessment of elite offenders. The research provides empirically-grounded recommendations for law enforcement disruption strategies, including prioritized targeting of high-betweenness broker nodes and identification of structural early warning indicators. Theoretical and practical implications for forensic assessment, institutional vulnerability analysis, and policy development are discussed.
