Abstract The current crises in arts and humanities funding cuts, higher education institutions attacks, and anti-Asian racism reveal deep-rooted structural inequalities that existed long before 2024 and 2025. Rather than longing for a nostalgic past, this moment of rapid change offers opportunities for us to reimagine a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for our field and our society, and to rebuild. We must make important changes together toward our common goals.
