These instructions describe a way of creating an embeddable search tool that allows users to search an underlying spreadsheet of journal titles; a working version of the tool is available here: https://www.rvc.ac.uk/research/about/open-access/Transformative-Agreements-Journal-Finder. Also included are the two pieces of code that are required to set up the tool. The idea behind the tool was to provide researchers with a simple search tool, embedded within their institution's webpages, to discover journals in which they can publish on an Open Access basis without paying fees/paying reduced fees, as the journals contained in the underlying spreadsheet are covered by a publishing agreement that their institution is participating in. However, the tool could be adapted for a wide variety of purposes depending on the contents of the underlying spreadsheet of journal data, for example, to highlight Diamond Open Access journals, journals that are compliant with an institutional or funder policy, or journals that publish a particular type of output e.g. Registered Reports, etc.
