Occupational stress has become a significant concern among higher secondary school teachers due to increasing academic demands, administrative responsibilities, and changing educational expectations. The present study aims to examine the level of occupational stress among higher secondary school teachers and its relationship with the organizational climate of their schools. Organizational climate, which includes factors such as leadership style, interpersonal relationships, communication patterns, and institutional support, plays a vital role in shaping teachers’ professional experiences and well-being. The study adopts a descriptive survey method to collect data from a representative 939 samples of higher secondary school teachers. The Occupational Stress Scale (2013) developed by Meenakshi Sharma & Satvinderpal and the Organizational Climate Scale (2014) developed by Sanjyot Pathe & Sushama Chaudhan are measured using standardized instruments. Statistical techniques such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, correlation analysis, and significance testing are employed to analyze the data and interpret the results. Findings of the study are expected to reveal varying levels of occupational stress among teachers and a significant relationship between occupational stress and organizational climate. A positive and supportive organizational climate is anticipated to be associated with lower levels of occupational stress, whereas a poor organizational climate may contribute to higher stress levels among teachers. The study also attempts to identify differences in occupational stress based on selected demographic variables such as gender, locality, age, and types of management, educational qualification. The outcomes of this research have important educational implications. Understanding the influence of organizational climate on teachers’ occupational stress can help school administrators and policymakers develop effective strategies to create a healthy and supportive work environment.
