Abstract

This poster was presented at the Kotka Maritime Research Conference (KOMAREC 2025), held on 29-30 October 2025. The poster examines the impact of environmental regulations on greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and decarbonization pathways for small maritime vessels and short-sea shipping. It summarizes insights from recent studies on electric propulsion and alternative fuels, highlighting technical, economic, and regulatory challenges faced by ships below 5000 GT.
