Introduction: Locations of Motorcycle Accidents and Characteristics of the Patients presenting at the Emergency Department of Thammasat University Hospital To study the locations of motorcycle accidents and characteristics of the patients presenting at the Emergency Department of Thammasat University Hospital Method: The design of study was prospective observational study of patients who had accidents while riding or sitting behind the rider presenting at the emergency department of Thammasat University Hospital from 1st July to 30th November 2016 Results: There were 278 patients presenting at the emergency room. Of those, 254 patients were males (91.4%). The most common age group was 10 - 19 years old. The most common mechanisms of injury were collision and falls with the number of 165 (59.4%) and 94 patients (33.8%), respectively. There were 232 accidents with 247 patients (88%) happened in Thammasat University Hospital’s responsibility area, which is 10 kilometers distance to all directions from the hospital. The area was divided into 5 small sections. First, Thammasat University and the dormitories nearby with 40 patients were found. Second, the north section with 55 patients were found. Third, the east section with 95 patients were found. Fourth, the south section with 52 patients were found. Last, the west section with 5 patients were found. Discussion and Conclusion: The most common locations found were within Thammasat University Hospital’s responsibility area, which is 10 kilometers distance to all directions from the hospital. Most of the patients could be discharged without follow-up.
