In this talk, we present the numerical study of turbulent natural convection in a water pool in the presence of nucleate boiling at its heated bottom wall. Our model is based on an Eulerian-Lagrangian formulation and incorporates two-way coupling for the momentum and energy exchanges between the continuous and dispersed phases (liquid water and vapour bubbles respectively). It also includes correlations for the nucleation, growth and departure of the bubbles from the bottom wall. In addition, the bubbles exit the flow domain once they reach the free surface; as such, the number of bubbles is not a priori set to a fixed value. Further, our model takes account of water evaporation across the free surface by considering a Stefan problem therein.
