Lamin Sanneh touched many lives—and changed many minds. When I was a graduate student, the cafeteria in Yale’s Hall of Graduate Studies was usually full of jaded grad students having jaded conversations about reading lists, professors, and the undergraduates we were supposed to help inspire.
