This study focuses on identifying the application of precision farming technology in agriculture entrepreneurship by applying a systematic literature review approach. The documents in the English language available in the Scopus, Dimensions, and Web of Science, databases are considered. A total of 229 documents during the period 1995–2023 were selected through the SPAR-4-SLR protocol to understand the role and adoption of precision farming technology by agriculture entrepreneurs. The study investigates the evolution over the period to examine the evolution, factors influencing the adoption, the impact of these technologies, the contribution to sustainable development, differences in the adoption in developing and developed countries, barriers faced during the adoption, future trends in the precision farming technology adoption, and recommendations for the improvement. The major findings are; factors influence precision farming technology in agriculture entrepreneurship are; readiness for technology integration, knowledge, finance, and accessibility. The enhancement in productivity, efficiency, and sustainability is also considered a driving factors. Developed countries like the USA and the European Union countries have largely adopted the PFT compared the developing countries. Initial costs, inadequate expertise, lack of infrastructure, etc. were the major challenges encountered. This study is purely a literature review and lacks the advantages of applying a quantitative study. This study fills the existing research gap and directions for further research. The study provides managerial implications to prepare suitable policies, plans, and programs to promote precision farming technology adoption and impart awareness for enriching knowledge among agricultural entrepreneurs and farmers. The novelty of the study is based on the structured literature review.
