Animals classified as pseudohermaphrodites are those that present gonads of one sex but are associated with external genitalia and secondary sexual characteristics of the opposite sex. This is a rare condition in dogs but may be linked to disorders of sexual development and, in some cases, predispose them to relevant clinical complications. The present case report describes a male pseudohermaphroditism in a nine-year-old Yorkshire dog. The animal, phenotypically male, had a history of bilateral cryptorchidism, a conditionthat already predisposed it to gonadal alterations. The suspicion of intersex condition arose during the surgical procedure for removal of the ectopic testes. During the intervention, hypospadias was observed, a congenital alteration that explains the recurrent inflammations in the penis, leading to necrotic areas. After tissue excision, samples were submitted for histopathological examination, which confirmed the occurrence of male pseudohermaphroditism and also revealed the concomitant presence of testicular seminoma and cystic endometrial hyperplasia, highlighting the complexity of the case. The combination of these alterations reinforces the importance of differential diagnosis in patients with reproductive anomalies. Postoperative recovery proceeded satisfactorily, without complications, and the animal achieved full recovery. This report contributes to expanding clinical and pathological knowledge about intersex conditions in dogs, emphasizing the relevance of surgical and histopathological investigation for understanding sexual development anomalies and their possible implications for animal health.
