The landscape of health disparities research in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), and in pediatric rheumatology overall, has grown exponentially over the past decade, following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the national spotlight on social justice movements. Much of the earlier research highlights racial and ethnic disparities in JIA prevalence, which tend to be racially patterned in the United States.
