The educational positioning of applied private universities focuses primarily on applications, with an emphasis on cultivating talents who possess applied knowledge and practical abilities. In response to the current situation in the teaching of college physics in applied private universities, where students have weak learning awareness and insufficient motivation, the training objectives are unclear and the outcomes are suboptimal, and the teaching content is disconnected from industry demands, specific solutions are proposed from the perspectives of course-based ideological and political education, the Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) concept, and the optimization of teaching content. Course-based ideological and political education addresses the willingness to learn from an ideological perspective, the OBE concept addresses the relationship between teaching and learning, and the optimization of teaching content ensures that the knowledge is applicable. Practice has shown that the new teaching model has significantly enhanced students’ interest and motivation in learning, and the teaching outcomes have been markedly improved, meeting the goals of industry-education integration. The research findings provide certain guidance for improving the teaching quality of college physics in applied private universities.
