This ledger contains the 1919 to 1943 meeting minutes of the Executive Board of the University of Montana in Missoula (also referred to as the Local Executive Board of the University of Montana). Prominent members of the Board included the university president as chairman, J. B. Speer as secretary, and two local community leaders. This ledger records a number of university presidents and chairmen of the Executive Board, from E. O. Sission (1917-1921), to Charles H. Clapp (1921-1935), George F. Simmons (1936-1941), and finally to Ernest O. Melby in 1941. The two local leaders that served on the Board between 1919-1943 were S. J. Coffee and J. F. S. Marshall.
