The study of organized attack collective play in beach handball is a relatively under-researched area. Consequently, the main objective of this study is to design and validate an instrument for the observation of the collective tactical procedures of positional attack in beach handball. Another objective of this study was to gather the collective tactical procedures employed during the organized attack phase in beach handball matches at the highest level. The observational instrument was developed using the criterion of authority, with input from a panel of experts. To assess the quality of the data, Cohen's Kappa Index (intra-observer agreement) and Fleiss' Kappa Index (inter-observer agreement) were employed. Both indexes demonstrated almost perfect concordance values. It was concluded that the observation instrument, designed ad hoc, wasvalid for the purposes of the study. Furthermore, it was determined that women's teams performed more complex procedures than men's teams
