The prospects of using carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and composite materials based on them to replace traditional copper conductors in windings of permanent magnet synchronous motors are considered. The advantages of CNT windings are analyzed, including increased electrical conductivity, weight reduction, and improved thermal performance. Based on experimental data, the potential effectiveness of using CNT windings to develop energy-efficient traction electric motors that help overcome the key limitations of autonomous electric vehicles is shown.
