Key Points

  • The research aims to analyze the dancing behavior and social interactions of rose-ringed parakeets using social media videos.
  • Utilized 381 social media videos of rose-ringed parakeets.
  • Created a dataset of 1249 action video slices categorized into 15 behaviors.
  • Retained original video resolutions to preserve real-world behavior.
  • Identified distinct courtship-related actions such as head nodding and wing spreading.
  • Established a realistic benchmark for behavior recognition and computer-vision models.
  • Provided valuable data for future studies on parakeet behaviors and adaptability.

Abstract

This dataset utilizes social media videos to investigate behavior of Rose-ringed parakeet( Psittacula krameri ), offering a unique opportunity to understand their social interactions, emotional expressions, and environmental adaptability through collection of real and natural behavioral data. To support this, a video action analysis dataset for Rose-ringed parakeet has been designed. The dataset comes from 381 short videos, divided into 1249 action video slices, covering 15 courtship-related action categories (such as head nodding, spread wings, and shaking, etc.), Videos were retained in their original resolutions (not standardized), providing a realistic benchmark for robustness testing in computer-vision models, enabling research in behavior recognition, video detection and pattern analysis.
