This text focuses on the first ten years of existence (1960–1969) of Acta Universitatis Carolinae – Historia Universitatis Carolinae Pragensis (AUC-HUCP), the first Central European journal dedicated to the history of university education. Attention is paid to the institutional framework of the journal, its editorial board, and the contributing authors. On top of that, the article features an analysis of the contents of the first ten years of the journal. The authors consider the wider context of the development of European historiography during the period in question, including the establishment of the history of university education as a separate field (such as the creation of the International Commission for the History of Universities in 1962).
