Our results suggest that norepinephrine released from sympathetic nerves suppresses inflammation via activation of β₁ and β₂ receptors on MMφ. These findings advance the understanding of neuroimmune interactions underlying gastrointestinal homeostasis and its disruption during inflammatory states.
